We are the proud owners of a puppy named Coco! We have had her for about 3 months (maybe it's been only 2 months but seems like 3- can't remember). She has been a lot of fun though. It has been a joy to see each of the kids with her. Jared is the protector of others with her (when we first got her she liked to nip at people. Now she still likes to jump up on people especially small kids) Jared let her know right away who was boss. He is teaching her how to behave around others. Jamie is the caretaker. She is very concerned about making sure she eats and goes potty outside. She also makes sure Coco feels loved by holding her. Lexi is her playmate. She is enjoying teaching her to jump and to 'come'. She is also about the only one that lets her lick her all over.
My kind husband has been so good about it all! We sort of surprised him. He was away on a trip. He has known for several years that we wanted a dog -we just could never talk him into it. It took him a few days to warm up to her but now the kids and I actually see him playing with her at times. He is the one who instigated teaching her tricks.
She is half Basenji and half Italian Grey Hound. She will grow to be no bigger than 15 pounds. She does not shed and she does not bark (well she barks about one time a week very randomly). She also does not slobber or druel. Love that! She is a good fit for our family and we love her.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh, that makes me a little puppy hungry! :) I think we'll be getting another one soon. It's so great to have a dog--I loved watching my kids bond with our dogs, and they ALWAYS had someone to play with! Enjoy. It's fun to hear from you again. . .
Tami...my long lost running friend :)We love Coco...Squirt and Coco need a playdate. I love your blog!
My girls words--"AAAWWWWWW we got to get a puppy!" It is a very cute dog. Wonder if Jim would go for this kind of dog? I do not think I could surprise him though.
Very very cute!!
We love your little rat. You can tell by looking into his eyes that he is smart. Good choice. The kids look pretty smart, too.
I am surprised that you got a dog. He is really cute.
I just got to see sweet Coco first hand! So cute!
Dan definitely handled the "surprise" much better than BT would.
